The Viofo A229 1CH Pro 4K Wifi GPS is the latest model in the popular and reliable A229 series. With this Pro version, Viofo has updated both the design and the specifications. The Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K keeps a razor-sharp eye on everything at the front of the car. With the built-in Sony Starvis 2 image sensor, it delivers crystal-clear images in all conditions.
The Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS is equipped with dual-band Wifi (5 GHz), ensuring very fast file transfer and a highly reliable network. Using the Viofo App, footage can be viewed and downloaded directly via Wifi on any iOS or Android phone or tablet.
The Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS records in 4K resolution. Thanks to the super-fast Novatek 96660 chip combined with the two SONY sensors, every detail is clearly visible, even in the dark.
The Viofo A229 Plus 4K Wifi is equipped with an automatic parking mode featuring motion detection or Time Lapse. In motion detection mode, the camera remains on standby and starts recording a 30-second clip when movement is detected. In Time Lapse mode, the camera continuously records a 1fps video which can later be played back (in fast-forward) as a 30fps video. This ensures that evidence is always available if the car is damaged whilst parked.
Please note: The automatic parking mode only works if the dashcam is used with the Viofo HK4 hardwire kit or the OP100 OBD-II USB-C power supply (see accessories). When connected to these, the camera will automatically switch to parking mode when the car’s ignition is switched off and revert to normal recording when the car is started.
The included CPL filter guarantees optimal protection and image quality in sunny conditions. The CPL filter acts for the dashcam like a pair of polarised sunglasses for the eyes. Harmful UV radiation is filtered out and annoying reflections are eliminated. This improves the camera’s image quality and durability.
With the handy optional Viofo A229 Plus 4K Wifi Bluetooth SOS button, a manual SOS recording can be started on the Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS at the touch of a button. The SOS button can be easily connected to the Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS by switching on the dashcam and holding the button down for 3 seconds. The blue indicator LED on the button will light up blue once the connection has been successfully established. The SOS button can be mounted anywhere inside the vehicle using the adhesive pad supplied.
The Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS comes with a GPS module as standard. The GPS allows the current speed to be displayed on the screen. This can be crucial as evidence in the event of an incident. Furthermore, the GPS records the locations where footage was captured by the dashcam. The route travelled can therefore be viewed via the software on a PC.
This Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS dashcam features a 2.4-inch HD LCD screen. The screen displays live footage and allows for easy navigation of the menu. The built-in screensaver automatically switches off the LCD screen after a set number of minutes, if desired, so that it does not distract the driver.
Thanks to the 140˚ wide-view ‘fish-eye’ lens, the Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS has a wide field of view and records the view in front of the car.
The 1.6 aperture at the front, combined with a 7G lens, captures a lot of light, ensuring excellent image quality both during the day and in the dark.
Thanks to HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology, the camera is capable of generating sharp images in both very high and very low light conditions. This means the camera records razor-sharp images both during the day in bright light and at night in low light.
The Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS is equipped with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) hardware. This allows the dashcam to automatically adjust the light intensity depending on the environment. The WDR therefore guarantees the best image quality under varying conditions.
The Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS dashcam starts recording automatically when the car is started. So you no longer need to worry about it once it’s mounted in the car. However, this requires it to be connected to the car’s power supply.
Thanks to the built-in G-sensor, the Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS dashcam detects when you’ve been in an accident. Upon impact, footage is automatically secured so it cannot be lost. It cannot be overwritten or deleted via the dashcam.
Via the AV output, the dashcam’s footage can be displayed on an external monitor, such as the car’s built-in navigation system. An AV cable is required to transfer the footage.
The Viofo A229 Pro 1CH 4K Wifi GPS is equipped with a supercapacitor battery. This battery ensures that the camera can shut down correctly in the event of a power failure. Supercapacitor batteries have been specially developed for use in dashcams because they are more durable than standard polymer Li-ion batteries and are also more resistant to high and low temperatures.
Thanks to the built-in microphone in this dashcam, sound inside and around the car is also recorded. The microphone can be switched off if desired
