Dashcam connected to powerbank does not go into parking mode

Are you using a Cellink powerbank and have you connected the dashcam to the Cellink with the optional 3-wire hardwire kit? If so, there is a good chance that the hardwire kit is not properly connected to the Cellink.

It is important to pay attention only to the labels on the cables and not to the colours of the cables. With Cellink, the yellow cable is for the constant + (B+) connection and the red cable is for the switched (ACC) connection. With many power supplies, these colours are reversed, so you must connect the yellow cable of the hardwire kit to the red cable of the Cellink.

To avoid confusion, the colours of the cables on Cobalt powerbanks are green and blue. The constant + of your hardwire kit must be connected to the blue cable and the switched Acc to the green cable of the Cobalt.

Connecting to a standard powerbank?

The Cobalt and Cellink powerbanks mentioned above are specially designed for use with a dashcam. The hardwire kit required for the dashcam can be connected to these powerbanks. The hardwire kit is always required because, among other things, it sends the signal to the dashcam when the car is turned on and off.

In principle, you can also connect a dashcam to a standard powerbank with a USB cable, but the parking mode on the dashcam will not activate and the camera will continue to film as it does while driving.
